An event aimed at raising the number of people signed up to the organ donor register has been declared a success.

Exmouth charity champion Steve Gazzard was delighted with his latest sign-up event, which took place at Exmoth tourist hotspot World of Country Life.

Alongside town crier Roger Bourgein, Steve was invited to the renowned attraction in Littleham to hold one of his regular sign-up sessions.

On this occasion, 15 people were signed up to the register, some from as far away as Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Steve said it was a ‘busy day’ answering questions and ‘dozens’ of organ donor forms were taken away, adding: “We were extremely pleased to be asked and very happy with the outcome.”

Steve has been on a crusade to sign up as many people as possible to the organ donor register after his daughter, Sarah Wright, died while waiting for double lung transplant in 2012.
