It is hoped the return of a reduced price tariff for East Devon car parks over the festive period will boost trade for businesses.

Between Thursday (November 1) and March 31, 2019, shoppers will be able to park all day in any of East Devon District Council’s (EDDC) car parks for £2.

It is hoped the return of the festive tariff will not only encourage people to support their community businesses over Christmas but also boost trade in the early months of 2019.

Councillor Geoff Pook, EDDC portfolio holder for asset management, said: “We want to support businesses in all of our town and village high streets as much as we can through the quieter winter months.

“All the feedback we have received from last year’s parking offer showed that it was a great success.”

Tickets will be valid up until midnight in all EDDC’s car parks in Exmouth, Budleigh Salterton and Lympstone.

The offer applies to tickets paid for by cash. Those with permits or paying using the Parkmobile service will not be able to use the offer.
