An Exmouth youngster has had his idea for a comic strip immortalised after winning a summer competition.

Brixington Academy pupil Harry Stubbings, aged five, had his story about a lost hedgehog illustrated by Exmouth-based artist Nate Hammond after winning the ‘design your comic strip’ contest.

The competition was held by Exmouth Library in partnership with The Comic Box, in Albion Street, as part of the Summer Reading Challenge 2018.

Harry, and runner-up Ella Axon, aged nine, of Marpool Primary School, were presented with their prizes by Martyn Chivers, of The Comic Box.

He said: “There were dozens of entries and we were thrilled with the imagination and talent shown by everyone that took part. There were lots of different stories, some funny, some dramatic, but all of them were great fun! It was really difficult to choose winners.

“Congratulations to our winners and to everyone that took part.”
