Exmouth care home celebrates ‘glowing’ report

Health and social care watchdog Care Quality Commission rated Fernihurst Nursing Home, in Douglas Avenue, Exmouth, as good, following an unannounced inspection.

Residents and staff at Fernihurst Nursing Home, in Exmouth, are celebrating receiving a ‘glowing’ report from the independent regulator, Care Quality Commission.

The health and social care watchdog rated the care home, in Douglas Avenue, as good, following an unannounced inspection.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulator said Fernihurst Nursing Home achieved ‘Good’ ratings in all five outcomes, categories scored included ‘caring’, ‘safe’ and ‘effective’.

The report praised the staff’s caring nature and kindness; the home’s commitment to treating its residents with respect and dignity, and for Fernihurt’s provision of safety and care.

Nicky Feasby, Fernihurst manager, said: “We have an absolutely amazing team here who genuinely care for every single one of our residents as if they were members of their own family – this rating is a testament to them and the care they provide.

“The positive comments in the report from our residents and their families are so heart-warming to read and something that the team at Fernihurst and I are very proud of.”
