Exmouth Chamber of Commerce chairman, Ian MacQueen, said the volume of high-quality applications meant making a decision was all the more difficult. He added: “The Exmouth chamber and Exmouth Journal-sponsored business awards have attracted an even greater number of applications for this exciting event.

“The choice and quality of applications has been fantastic and as such has made the judging very difficult indeed. In truth, all the businesses are ‘winners’ in their own right!

“That said, our three judges spent the weekend weighing up the pros and cons of each application and made their difficult decisions.

“As a result we have a list of some 39 businesses that have been put forward as the category shortlist for the 2018 Chamber of Commerce Business Awards.

“The Exmouth Chamber of Commerce and the Exmouth Journal wish all the shortlisted businesses the very best of luck on the night and thank all those other very worthy businesses that took the trouble to apply.”

The awards evening will take place, on Friday, May 18, at Ocean, with the drinks reception starting at 6.00pm, followed by the call to table at 7.10pm and guests sitting down at 7.30pm.

Tickets are on sale now, and will be available to buy at Exmouth Pavilion, until May 12.
