The Exmouth Business Awards 2018 were officially launched today (Tuesday, February 20), with a breakfast buffet at Exmouth’s Ocean venue.

Around 70 business people attended the event, hosted by the Exmouth Chamber of Trade and Commerce.

Plenty of networking took place, fuelled by bacon baps, coffee and tea.

Welcoming everyone, Ian MacQueen, chamber chairman, spoke of how the awards – now in their sixth year – have ‘gained traction’, and how well the event works for sponsors and winners.

He then introduced Laura Drake from Mountlands Language School, who is organising this year’s awards at Exmouth’s Ocean on Friday, May 18.

Laura explained changes to the awards, including the new category Best Hair and Beauty Business of the Year.

Then Ella Tyler, owner and managing director of Mountlands, shared her experience of being an award winner, and what it’s meant to her.

Finally, Ian MacQueen thanked everyone for attending and wished award nominees good luck.
