Ford Simey LLP – one of the leading, most trusted and reliable providers of legal services in Devon – has sponsored the Judges’ Special Award since the Exmouth Business Awards were launched in 2013.

Ford Simey says it’s proud to sponsor the category again at the 2018 Awards, to be held at Exmouth’s Ocean venue on Friday, May 18.

“We sponsor this special award because of its diversity,” said a Ford Simey spokesperson.

“It covers such a wide range of disciplines – much like our own services – whether the significant and positive influence on the business community comes from an organisation or an individual, worthy of very special recognition.”

That’s certainly been the case throughout the special award’s prestigious history.

Recent winners have included Suzanne Birkett (the Exmouth Town Management officer, who masterminded many successful promotional events, such as the Christmas Cracker), and Phil Griffin (the former editor of the Exmouth Journal, who first suggested the awards in 2012).

It’s also different from the other categories.

“Unlike the other awards, there is no shortlist for this award and the winner is announced on the night,” said the spokesperson.

The evening is a great event for the town, they added.

“The awards ceremony encourages us to get out there and support our local business community in a positive manner.

“It’s a glittering evening where one can socialise with local dignitaries and representatives from many of the town’s businesses.

“There is an air of excitement and a touch of glamour.”

The Ford Simey team can’t wait for this year’s event.

“We are very much looking forward to an evening of fine food and wine with our guests, and to celebrating the awards with the winners.

“Exmouth is blessed with a vibrant business community and Ford Simey is proud to celebrate the successes of these local businesses with the Exmouth Chamber of Trade and Commerce. The awards ceremony showcases all that is great about these companies and recognises the hard work that is required to achieve success.

“We would thank the Chamber for all the hard work and effort put into organising this prestigious event, and we wish all the nominees good luck.”
