Three very different paintings of the sea by Exmouth artists will be on display at the Artbeat show at Kennaway House in Sidmouth.

It is the sixth annual exhibition of work by an eclectic group of 11 artists from East Devon

All three of the Exmouth-based artists are inspired by the sea and coastline, although they have developed very distinctive ways of interpreting and depicting what they see.

Zan Nye enjoys painting in acrylics and experimenting with mixed media. Her stylised seascape, Devon Sailing, will be among the pictures on show. Jane Williams’s painting depicts the sweeping bay at Rhosilli, on the Gower Peninsula in Wales. Jan Shayler’s picture is the semi-abstract Seascape; her work also includes lively watercolours of animals and large, colourful figures.

There will be paintings, prints, cards, textiles and gifts for sale at the exhibition, which takes place from Friday, September 7 until Monday 17th, and entry is free.
