A recent collection held by the Exmouth and Budleigh Salterton Friends of FORCE at Tesco in Salterton Road, Exmouth, has raised more than £550 for the charity.

The group thanked all those who donated £554, and the volunteers who helped with the collection.

A spokesperson for Exmouth and Budleigh Salterton Friends of FORCE said: “We are grateful to Tesco for allowing us to collect at their store.”

The spokesperson added: “FORCE is a local charity, where all the money raised is spent locally.

“The charity doesn’t receive any government funding and relies solely on donations and fundraising events to fund its work, which helps to run the support centre on the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital site, in the purchasing of equipment for the oncology department at the hospital.

“This is used in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, and also the funding of research through the Exeter University School of Medicine.”
