Plans for a major new solar farm between Woodbury and Lympstone are to be unveiled to the public next week.

Renewable Energy Systems (RES) previously announced that it was working with the owners of Coombe Farm in Exe View Road on proposals for a solar farm which could cover up to 40 acres.

Now, RES has announced that it will hold a public exhibition at Woodbury Village Hall on Tuesday, February 25, between 3pm and 7pm.

The firm says feedback from members of the public will be taken into account in developing a planning application, which RES anticipates will be submitted later in the spring.

RES project manager John Prendergast said: “This will be an informal drop-in session, so members of the public can attend at any time. We will be providing information, including visualisations and layout drawings, to help people understand what we are proposing. I and other members of the project team will be available to answer any questions people may have about the project, or about solar technology in general.”

RES says it has also directly invited residents of more than 240 properties near Coombe Farm, and consulted elected representatives and stakeholders. The solar farm would produce enough energy to meet the needs of 1400 to 1700 homes.
