An Exmouth estate agent has thrown herself out of a plane to raise much needed funds for charity.
Pam Preston, 57, who works at Palmers Whitton and Laing, took on the hair-raising challenge to support Hospiscare.
Last weekend she completed her tandem skydive at Dunkeswell, jumping with an instructor from 15,000ft.
Pam said: “It has got to be the most exhilarating, exciting, awesome and most definitely ‘scary’ thing that I have ever done. But, after having a couple of days to think about it all, all I can say is ‘wow!’ I cannot believe that I actually jumped out at 15,000ft, experiencing the adrenaline rush, freefalling at about 120mph for up to two miles, above the clouds in what was a most beautiful blue sky.
“When the parachute unfolded and we slowed down, and I managed to get my breath back, it was such a tranquil feeling, floating back towards land and taking in the most spectacular scenery, with the help of Michael, my tandem instructor, pointing out the various landmarks.
“Thanks to all the team at Skydive for their help and support – and sense of humour – for making this a memorable day, and thank you again to all my family, friends and the many people out there that supported me and for the many donations that were given to such a worthy cause.”
Pam said she would also like to thank her boss, Philip Muzzlewhite of Whitton and Laing in Exeter, for paying for the cost of the skydive, so all the money raised would go to the charity.
