Undergraduates beat off stiff competition to win the University of Plymouth Colleges business enterprise FLUX trophy.

An undergraduate from Luppitt helped a team from Bicton College to secure victory and win a business award.

Rowan Morris along with his team mates Helen Parkin, Jade Turner, Jamie Long, Daniel Marks and Mark Crumpton beat of stiff competition to come away with the University of Plymouth Colleges (UPC) Business Enterprise FLUX trophy.

The team, Rural Heaven, received £500 from UPC and £500 sponsorship from Plymouth Round Table for their winning idea to create a network of eco-friendly shared transport hubs for rural communities.

The FLUX event saw nine teams from colleges across the South West, which are part of University of Plymouth colleges, compete against each other.

As part of the competition the students had to develop ideas and plans for a community based business to ‘kick start the rural economy’, and make a presentation to a panel of judges.

Rural Heaven will now represent UPC in the national finals being held in London in March.
