Exmouth seafront attraction plan to be decided at town hall

A key planning meeting, which is set to decide the short-term future of Exmouth seafront, will take place in the town.

Traditionally, East Devon District Council’s (EDDC) development management committee (DMC) meetings have been held at the authority’s HQ at Knowle, Sidmouth.

However, at the next meeting, councillors will be asked to make a decision on controversial plans for temporary attractions on the former Exmouth Fun Park site, which could be in place for a year.

EDDC has confirmed that the DMC meeting will take place at Exmouth Town Hall on Tuesday, March 6, at 10am.

An EDDC spokeswoman said: “Following the refurbishment of Exmouth Town Hall, which was completed last November, work and meetings will take place at the most appropriate location. On Tuesday, March 6, the council’s development management committee will be meeting at Exmouth Town Hall.

“On the agenda is a planning application involving Exmouth seafront.”
