Officers said the man twice visited the High Street Coop on Wednesday, November 21, between 5.40pm and 5.45pm, and stole multiple over-the-counter medicines, such as Nurofen, Strepsils and Imodium.

Police have described the man as being white, in his late 20s to early 30s, around six feet tall, with short dark brown hair.

He was wearing black shoes, black dress trousers, a sky blue shirt, and a dark parker-style jacket.

If anyone saw the man, or can help police with his identity, call 101, quoting crime reference KE/12/2707.

An RNLI spokeswoman said: “The volunteer crew located the vessel and confirmed it was unmanned and no-one was in the water.

“The owner was informed by the coastguard and the crew towed the yawl back to Topsham Sailing Club to hand it over to him.”

BIG BOOST FOR RNLI: Exmouth RNLI is celebrating donations totalling more than £1,000 to help fund the launch and recovery vehicle for the town’s new Shannon-class lifeboat.

Exe Sailing Club members handed over a cheque for £666 from funds raised throughout the year when the group held its recent wine and cheese evening, in aid of the charity.

A further £290 was raised on the night from a raffle and admission, while selling official merchandise raised almost an extra £200.

A coffee morning held in Budleigh Salterton for the RNLI raised £471 for the cause.

The new lifeboat is expected in Exmouth at the end of 2013.
