Donation boost for sight charity

Topsham-based charity Devon in Sight has received a £1,000 donation from Sidmouth Lions Club.

The charity’s chief executive officer Grahame Flynn went to the Anchor Inn in Sidmouth to receive a cheque, after the money was raised through a concert at the Manor Pavilion theatre last month featuring the Moonlight Swing Band.

Mr Flynn said he was ‘very grateful’ for the donation, and also took the opportunity to tell the Lions about the charity’s work, demonstrating gadgets which help blind and partially-sighted people, and talking about upcoming projects.
