Exmouth’s community groups can now get a helping hand thanks to the team at Devon Cliff Holiday Park and a new project, which supports local organisations.

Exmouth’s community groups, schools and residents are to benefit from a new project set up by Devon Cliffs Holiday Park.

Thanks to the park’s Dare to Care scheme, Devon Cliffs staff members are to volunteer their time tackling projects proposed by the public, and also opening up the park’s facilities to local groups.

The park’s band of helpers is keen to hear from community groups and causes who need a helping hand.

Since the project was launched, the team has teamed up with pupils at Littleham Primary School, giving a quiet garden a facelift, planting flowerbeds and making bird boxes.

The team has also worked alongside Littleham in Bloom and lare this weeeknd repainting the village hall.

Devon Cliffs environmental manager Brian O’Brien said: “So far our team have really enjoyed being out of their comfort zones and having a chance to do things they wouldn’t do in their normal working day.

“To see some of our beauty therapists from the spa out with saws and axes creating new habitats for wildlife, or the team from holiday sales planting with children has been amazing.

Mr O’Brien added: “As well as the practical help we are trying to support our local community in other ways. For an example, we are arranging a free pool party for the Switch youth group, which has about 25 members.”
