The hearing into the decision to reject an application to build 15 homes in West Hill will take place next month.
The Planning Inspectorate announced the review into Paul Hunt Investment’s plan to build at West Hayes will be heard on Wednesday, March 21.
The applicant is arguing the district council planning officers’ decision to change its recommendation on the proposal back in November was wrong.
Minutes before a meeting at the Knowle the plans, which include 10 affordable homes, were removed from the agenda.
This was following a decision by the planning inspector to reject an appeal into a 50-house plan at neighbouring Eastfield.
The West Hayes plan had been recommended for approval up to this point, but when it reappeared on the agenda for December’s planning meeting this had changed, and it was duly rejected by East Devon District Council.
The agent for Paul Hunt, Andrew McNaughton, said this was the wrong decision, as his application should have been judged under a separate departure policy from the Eastfield plan.
