Storms and floodwater have failed to thawrt an owner’s search for a much-loved dog who went missing three months ago near Budleigh beach.

A search party on the hunt for a missing dog from East Budleigh is refusing to be thwarted by the stormy weather.

Black Labradoodle Daisy has been missing since November last year; she was last seen near Otter Ridge, near Budleigh beach, where she was being walked by her owner, Ali Colledge.

Although floodwater has hampered the search for the much-loved pet, those searching for Daisy have turned their attention back to Budleigh Salterton, where it is thought the dog could be sheltering from the storms.

Family friends Jennie Marshall said: “Unfortunately, flood water has cut us off from one of the areas we believe she is wandering in so we have focused our attention back on the town, where it is just possible she has been seen a few times lately. The weather is hampering us somewhat, so we can only hope she has a shelter and food.”

The search party is asking people living in Granary Lane to continue looking in garages and sheds for the missing pet.

Jennie said: “We’re still receiving phone calls. People are suggesting lots of things to us with regards to where she may be. We even had a call from someone who’d noticed in a local paper in Taunton that a wandering black dog had been rescued to a centre there.

“Unfortunately it wasn’t Daisy, but we are so grateful for that call, it shows people are thinking of all avenues in support of finding Daisy for us.”

If you spot Daisy, call Ali on 07984 428074 or 01395 443274, or Jennie on 01395 442445 or 07970 444163. The council dog warden is on 01395 571517.
