Courtlands appeal rejected

Lympstone is celebrating after a developer’s bid to overturn the refusal of a new 154-home ‘village’ at Courtlands Cross failed.

Strategic Land Partnerships had applied to build the homes including business units, a doctor’s surgery, a shop/cafe, nursery and community facilities on a green wedge between Lympstone and Exmouth.

The developers appealed to the planning inspector on a procedural matter, before district planners recommended refusal.

And now the inspector has rejected the appeal, safeguarding the green wedge.

It is the third major planning appeal East Devon District Council (EDDC) has won in as many months following 50 homes at West Hill and 56 at Tipton St John.
