Exmouth Town Council has received £726.47 from the liquidation of the old Exmouth Tourist Information Centre (TIC).
The money is what the council will get back from the £5,000 it erroneously paid to the old TIC in 2010.
When the old TIC was placed into liquidation earlier this year, the town council became one of a number of creditors, alongside whom its claim for £5,000 was assessed.
The figure of £726.47 is what the council will receive from the old TIC’s remaining assets.
An independent investigation earlier this year concluded that the £5,000 payment was made due to a flaw in the council’s procedures, which have now been updated.
Exmouth mayor John Humphreys said: “The council considers the matter closed and has no further comment to make.”
