Pupils from Exmouth Community College present a cheque to help Rotary International's campaign to end polio to Rotary members.

Pupils at Exmouth Community College have handed over more than £1,400 to help bring about the worldwide eradication of polio.

The money was raised by pupils who made a donation in exchange for being able to wear their own clothes at a school mufti day.

The campaign to end polio is being run by Rotary International, and pupils therefore presented a cheque for £1,482 to members of the Exmouth and District Rotary Club and Rotary district commissioner Barry Rendal-Jones during their recent visit to the college, when they gave presentations to pupils in years seven, eight and nine about the campaign.

The Rotary representatives also presented mementos and certificates to the winners of their Young Photography competition, and a cheque to the college of money raised by the Rotary cabaret evening at Exmouth Pavilion last year.
