Almost 100 people raised at least £400 at a charity coffee morning last Saturday morning at St Margaret’s Church, in Topsham.
The money will go to the newly-formed Pulmonary Fibrosis Support Group at the RD&E.
Visitors enjoyed homemade cake and tea and coffee.
The event was organised by the Kerley family – John David Kerley died from the illness last April.
Mrs Susan Kerley said: “It was a big turnout and we were absolutely thrilled with the response.
“It was a really enjoyable community event.”
