More than 460 children have taken part in a summer reading challenge at Exmouth Library.
The ‘creepy house’ event challenged the youngsters to read six books during the summer holidays, and also invited them to take part in story time and craft sessions.
Those that completed the challenge were presented with a medal, certificate and stickers to decorate their own creepy house poster, and magician Ozzy D provided entertainment at a finishers’ party.
Library manager Chris Launder was thrilled to have had so many children taking part, and said: “The challenge is a great way to encourage reading for pleasure.
“Our thanks go to all the primary schools in Exmouth that helped us to promote the challenge, and for the enthusiasm of the children and their parents.”
