The 11th annual “Walk or Ride” charity challenge is returning in April – and now is the time for clubs and charities to get involved.
The event, organised by the Rotary Club of Exmouth and District, gives contestants a choice of a five, eight or 12-mile walk, or a 14-mile cycle, through the East Devon countryside.
It is being sponsored by Palmers Whitton & Laing and Ladram Bay Holiday Park, and supported by Bicton College, which serves as the starting point for the routes. Entrants raise money for the cause of their choice, and so the organisers are appealing for charities and clubs to sign up now so their members can raise funds on their behalf.
The Rotary Club undertakes the entire organisation and, if charities wish, will receive and distribute sponsorship money whilst undertaking to recover Gift Aid where appropriate.
Also, the club is happy to tailor its poster for individual projects, charities or clubs to reproduce and circulate among their supporters and donors.
The event is open to all, and even those who don’t want to raise sponsorship can still enjoy the fun, with adult entrants invited to donate £5 towards the cost of putting on the event and for charity.
The Walk or Ride takes place on Sunday, April 28. For more information and to obtain entry and sponsorship forms, visit www.exmouthrotaryclub.co.uk. Alternatively call 01395 270766 or email walk@exmouthrotaryclub.co.uk.

Very interested to read the main feature on the Walk or Ride. This is an excellent event organised and run by The Rotary Club of Exmouth & District and which has raised many thousands of pounds for local charities. Highly recommended.
