Much-needed cash was raised for the local RSPCA animal shelter thanks to an Exmouth support group.
Volunteers dedicated to raising funds for animal welfare raised nearly £500 on Saturday thanks to a summer fair at Exmouth’s All Saints Church hall.
The RSPCA Little Valley animal shelter supporters held a variety of stalls, selling goods such as cakes, jewellery and bric-a-brac, which raised £470 for the cause.
Dave Phillips, secretary of the Little Valley Exmouth auxiliary group, said the cash raised would directly benefit the animals at the shelter.
He said: “It receives no funding from the RSPCA. It’s all funded locally. I don’t think a lot of people realise that. When we hold our flag days, we try and tell people that.”
● Little Valley Exmouth auxiliary group volunteers will be holding a flag day in Budleigh Salterton in September.
