Moose International presented Exmouth RNLI with £500 after members raised the cash from car parking in the city.

Exmouth RNLI was presented with a cheque for £500 thanks to members of Moose International City of Exeter Lodge.

The donation was raised by Moose fundraisers, collecting cash from a charity car park in Exeter once a month.

In thanks for the donation, the group was given a tour of the lifeboat station.

An Exmouth RNLI spokeswoman said: “The committee only raise money for local charities and on this occasion chose to donate their fundraising to the launch and recovery appeal at Exmouth RNLI.

“The vehicle is needed to launch and recover the new Shannon-class lifeboat expected at Exmouth by early 2014.”

Moose member Dave Backway said: “It was fascinating hearing about the history of the station and I certainly didn’t appreciate the amount of work that goes on behind the scenes.”
