Thrilled – the response from Hospiscare to the news that their Canapes on the Quay event this year raised an amazing £6,392.

More than 200 people gathered on the waterside near The Point on Wednesday, June 27, to enjoy drinks and nibbles in the evening sunshine, with music by the local jazz, swing and dance band Just Misbehavin’.

The amount raised has been described as “magnificent” by Hospiscare’s fundraising and promotions manager, Lucy Hancock.

She said: “We would like to give our sincere thanks to Richard and the wonderful team at The Point, Graham Sykes Insurance for sponsoring this event ,and our team of volunteers who worked tirelessly all evening to serve canapés and drinks, and sell raffle tickets.

“These events would not be successful, of course, without the support of the local community, from the staff, patients and families that we care for. We thank you all.”
