The Poppy Appeal received a welcome boost thanks to the baking efforts of the women’s section of the Littleham branch of the Royal British Legion.

More than £150 was raised for the Poppy Appeal when the women’s section of the Littleham branch of the Royal British Legion held a coffee morning.

The group said it was grateful to all who had dug deep and donated and also those who had given up their time to bake cakes to sell.

Group chairman Margaret West said: “I would like to thank everyone that supported the event and I would also like to thank the hard-working committee and members for producing such a stunning array of homemade cakes, which certainly proved very popular.”

The women’s section of the Littleham branch of the Royal British Legion is always keen to recruit new members from Exmouth and East Devon.

The group meets at 7pm on the second Wednesday of the month at the Bidmead Comunity Centre, in Littleham. Members listen to regular speakers or watch demonstrations.
