Caffe Nero steams ahead into Exmouth

15:07 23 April 2014

Caffè Nero is steaming ahead with its plans to open a coffee store in Exmouth’s Magnolia Centre.

A large poster has gone up in the window of 44 Chapel Street – the former location of the Blockbuster video store – advertising for staff.

The national coffee chain is looking for baristas, shift leaders, assistant managers and store managers.

The poster follows a recent recruitment open day, held by the chain at Exmouth’s Imperial Hotel.

Interviewees were told that the chain’s Exmouth store will probably open at the end of May, “depending on planning applications”, and its opening hours will be 7am to 7pm.

The Journal has contacted Caffè Nero for confirmation of its opening date but has yet to receive a reply.

The new Caffè Nero store is four doors away from Exmouth’s other national coffee chain, Costa Coffee, and close to many of the town’s independent coffee shops.

East Devon District Council has confirmed that it has currently not received a planning application from Caffè Nero for 44 Chapel Street.
