Help police investigating a burglary at a hotel in Topsham identify this masked figure.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information following a burglary in a Topsham hotel at the end of last month.

Investigating officers said The Globe Hotel, in Fore Street, was broken into sometime between 12.35am and 7am on Monday, April 21, and £5,500 was stolen from a safe in the reception area.

Police believe the hotel safe was unlocked and then emptied.

Detectives are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the town around the time of the crime.

Officers have been checking the hotel’s CCTV footage as part of the ongoing investigation.

Police have released this CCTV image from the night in the hope someone can identify a masked figure.

A Devon and Cornwall police spokesman said: “A large quantity of cash was taken from a secured safe and no other items were taken.

“It is not known how the offender, or offenders, broke into the building.

“Police are appealing for any members of the public who may have seen or heard someone acting suspiciously in the area to get in touch.”
