Fire fighters were called out to Budleigh Salterton last night (Friday, November 2) to deal with a car on fire.

One fire engine from Exmouth responded at around 10.25pm after a member of the public said there was a vehicle on fire in Bear Lane.

On arrival, the incident commander confirmed that there was a fire in the engine of a 4x4 vehicle.

A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

The cause was deemed to be accidental.”
