Budleigh Carnival returns this weekend

Budleigh Salterton is gearing up for its second annual carnival this Saturday (September 28).

Following the success of last year’s event, which saw the return of the procession to the town in more than 20 years, organisers are hoping 2018’s carnival will be ‘bigger and better’.

This year’s event will be the first since Budleigh was officially granted a spot on the East Devon Circuit, meaning float entries from carnival clubs across the region will be appearing in town on Saturday night.

There will also be various entertainment put on including balloon modelling and juggling.

Some of the town’s roads will be closed from 7pm to allow for the procession which will start this year outside the health and wellbeing hub in East Budleigh Road at around 7.30pm.

From there it will head down towards Coastguard Hill, turning towards the town centre along Marine Parade, Fore Street and High Street. The parade will then be led up Station Road before finishing in Upper Stoneborough Lane.
