PUBLISHED: 12:00 18 September 2018

A Clinton Devon Estates wildlife ranger is set for national recognition for the farmers’ market stall he holds in Budleigh Salterton.

Clinton Venison’s Tom Garner has been nominated for an award at the National Eat Game Awards.

Clinton is the only finalist from the South West in the best farmers market stall category.

Tom said it’s a ‘great honour’ to have reached the final, adding: “We really are flying the flag for the Westcountry in these awards and hope the region will get behind us in the online vote.”

Clinton Venison is produced from wild deer which are managed in-house by Tom to provide meat.

A spokesperson for Clinton Devon Estates said the responsible management of wild deer is an ‘integral part’ of the overall management of its 1,900 hectares of woodlands.

Voting ends on Sunday, September 30. Anyone wanting to vote for Tom can go to https://eatgameawards.co.uk/
