A Budleigh Salterton care home has received glowing reviews, making it one of the best in the South West.

Residents and their families rated Bay Court Residential and Nursing Home so highly that it beat 2,000 other care homes to collect a top 20 award from carehome.co.uk, a leading online reviews guide.

“Bay Court Residential and Nursing Home proved that they provide a high standard of care, and we’d like to congratulate them on being a Top 20 care home in South West England,” said Davina Ludlow, chair of carehome.co.uk.

She says first-hand knowledge is key to the guide’s authority.

“It’s the residents and their families and friends who have experience of what a care home is like, which is why we use their reviews to find the best care homes in the UK.

“Their reviews reveal that many care homes are warm and sociable places, where residents can interact with others and take part in stimulating activities, looked after by staff who are caring and compassionate.

“It’s such an achievement to be recognised for being a top-rated care home by the very people you care for.”

Carehome.co.uk is a leading care home reviews website that lists all registered UK care homes, which helps people search for the right care home.

The site’s Top 20 Care Home Awards 2018 were based on more than 75,000 reviews received from residents and their family and friends between July 2015 and January 2018.

The homes were rated on: overall standard; facilities; care/support; cleanliness; treated with dignity; food and drink; staff; activities; management; safety/security; rooms and value for money. “Finding the right care home can be hard,” said Davina. “We hope our awards help to make people’s search for a care home a bit easier.”

Staff at Bay Court are delighted by the news.

“All of our employees work exceptionally hard to provide the best possible care, so it means so much when their dedication and commitment is recognised,” said Samantha Smith, Bay Court’s manager. “As our score is a direct result of feedback from our residents, their families and friends, it makes this achievement even more special.”
