Police are stepping up patrols in Brixington after youths vandalised two sheds at Knappe’s Cross Community Centre at the end of last week.

Officers said youngsters sprayed graffiti and also left empty beer bottles and rubbish on a playfield next to the community centre.

Chris Ball, Brixington police community support officer, is keen to hear from anyone who knows the identity of the vandals.

He said the damage was caused on Friday April 4.

PCSO Ball said: “The centre is currently used as a pre-school for youngsters so it is of paramount importance that this type of anti-social behaviour is prevented from escalating in the future.

“The police will be targeting the area as high priority for patrols over the Easter holidays with a view to catching the culprits.”

If you have information to help police, or saw youths acting suspiciously in the area, call police on 101, quoting crime reference KE/14/745.
