The body of an unidentified man, believed to be in his 50s, has been found floating the Exe Estuary.
Police confirmed the body was discovered at 8.30am yesterday (July 18) in water near the start of the Exmouth to Lympstone cycle path, next to Lower Halsdon Farm.
The coastguard was called and the cycle path was closed. A shore line search was conducted.
It is understood that the body had no identification or jewellery.
A police spokesman said: “We are aware of a missing person at Starcross and someone went missing at Dartmouth.
“At this time, there is no speculation as to who it is. We have begun to try to identify the body.”
