A morning’s birdwatching is being held in Topsham.
The Plymouth branch of Devon Birds is organising the exploration of the RSPB’s Bowling Green Marsh in search of Autumn migrants this Monday, September 16, starting at 10:30am.
Field meeting coordinator Lesley Goonesekera said: “Bowling Green Marsh is such a well known and well loved birdwatching site. I like to arrange trips to a wide range of birding locations in the county and Bowling Green is always a favourite.”
As well as a huge variety of waders on the marsh itself, an osprey has been seen recently, feeding on fish caught in the estuary as it makes its massive southward migration.
“We come all the way from the Plymouth area to explore these marshes,” said Lesley. “But anyone is welcome to join us, especially if they might be interested in joining Devon Birds!”
The group will be meeting at the Holman Way car park at 10.30am from where they will explore the local area.
