Armed robbery at jewellers sparks police appeal

Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a jewellers in Exeter on Monday morning. Watches worth thousands of pounds were stolen.

Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery at Ernest Jones’ jewellers in Exeter this morning, Monday February 11.

The incident occurred at 9am at the store in the High Street.

Devon and Cornwall police believe three men in black clothing smashed the door, threatened staff with a hammer and stole boxes of Rolex watches.

A force spokesperson said: “Thieves ran off in the direction of John Lewis and got into a black Jaguar. Following an extensive search of the area, police located the vehicle in Sainsbury’s car park in Alphington.

“During the incident one member of staff was injured by glass.”
