The police have released CCTV images of a man they wish to speak to in relation to an alleged incident in an Exmouth takeaway.

Exmouth police are keen to speak to the man captured in these takeaway CCTV images, believing he holds information relating to an alleged abusive attack towards a member of staff.

Officers said the photographs were taken in the early hours of June 24, at the Subway takeaway, in The Strand.

Police said a female member of staff was left in a distressed state when a man wanting food swore at her and began damaging the shop.

PC Sarah Henley, at Exmouth CID, said: “After waiting in the queue for food he became verbally abusive to the member of staff inside and caused damage to the display.

“The female was working alone at the time so found this incident extremely distressful and has recently left her employment there.

“Unfortunately I am yet to identify the male so his identity is sought.”

Anyone who witnessed the alleged abuse at the takeaway, or who can identify the male in the CCTV images, is asked to contact police on 101, quoting crime reference: KE/12/1465
