15:54 11 February 2013

A yacht thought to be aground off Exmouth was anchored, coastguards said.

A yacht reported aground on the east side of the River Exe on Sunday afternoon was investigated by Exmouth coastguards.

A Portland coastguard spokesperson said on closers inspection it was found the vessel was not in any difficulty.

The spokesperson said: “On scene it was obvious that the vessel, Whistler, had been there some time and was secured by anchor.”
