More than £2080 was raised at Lympstone Preschool’s record-breaking ‘healthy lifestyle’ summer fundraiser.
The fundraiser was part of the preschool’s bid to be awarded Healthy Setting status.
This accreditation recognises the valuable part a pre-school plays in supporting the health and well-being of the children in their care.
Friends and families of children were sponsored to take part in a Royal Marine Circuit Challenge and a fast paced Zumba class to raise money to support the preschool and its community baby and toddler group.
There were also stalls from Exmouth based ‘Pop Goes the Weasel’, Lympstone Scouts, Lympstone Preschool bric-a-brac, craft, cakes, face painting and a raffle.
Prizes were donated by The Original Miniature Pony Centre, Dartmoor Zoological Park, Bicton Park, World of Country Life, The Globe Inn, The Swan Inn, Dekapak and Okie Dokie.
Chairperson of Lympstone Preschool, Susan Briggs said; “We would like to thank the Royal Marines for their support with their generous cash donation and to Colour Sergeant Lee Drinkwater for running the gruelling but fun circuit and Debbie of Zumba Exmouth.
“With sponsor money from the event still to flood in, this is set to be a record breaking fundraiser for Lympstone Preschool raising much needed funds for the charity preschool and is a great example of true community spirit.”
