Good riddance

Ref: Elizabeth Hall/Premier Inn (out with the old and in with the new).

For several weeks now, I have read many letters printed in the Journal re the fight to save Elizabeth Hall.

I feel I must put pen to paper. Good riddance to the Elizabeth Hall! What use does it have anyway?

Apart from a couple of art galleries a year, not a lot else worthwhile happens.

The car park is always empty apart from Sunday when people stand at stalls trying to sell their junk.

What a tacky sight it is; not a good impression of the seafront for visitors.

Oh yes, and the horrible noisy mini fair that sits in the car park over the August bank holiday. Let’s hope that moves to Blackpool.

In response to David Woolger’s letter, I also think it’s a wonderful idea for a Premier inn – we need it!

It will create local jobs, bring more visitors to the town; it’s the perfect, prime location and an affordable place for people to stay.

More people, more spending in the town, so shops and many businesses will benefit. Also, it will be lovely for us locals to have a nice new building to sit and enjoy a drink and meal overlooking the sea.

We need a few changes for the better in Exmouth and the Premier Inn is definitely one of them.

The problem with a lot of people is they don’t like change and can’t see further than their nose and sheep follow sheep.

The Elizabeth Hall is a complete waste of good space, so let’s welcome the Premier Inn sooner rather than later.

I do hope you publish this letter. Maybe more positive people will write to say Premier Inn is a good thing for our town.
