Robins off to a flyer.

BUDLEIGH welcomed the Senior one champion's Alphington to Greenway Lane and thought they got off to the perfect start when Scott Howarth turned his marker and fired home with a sweet left foot volley in the first minute, only for the goal to be disallowed.

The Robins' had five players making debuts and all acquitted themselves well.

With Dan Reynolds and Sam Bird adding real pace to the side while the team looked solid at the back with Paul Rowsell and Rich Higham gelling well.

Scott Howarth opened the scoring when Liam Mcmahon drew a few defender's his way and Radford delivered the perfect corner for Howarth to head home.

The lead could have been extended after another massive kick from keeper Wayne Rowsell found Howarth well placed, but a good stop kept him at bay and the hosts went into the break with a single goal advantage.

The second half started well when Dave Radford smashed in a fine right-footed drive to extend the lead early on.

Scott Howarth killed the game off with 15 minutes to go with his second of the game and the Robins wasted further chances late on when Craig Higham and Joe Perry nearly extended the lead.

Reynolds, Radford, Sam Bird and Scott Howarth all had a shout for Man of the Match but Paul Rowsell just shaded it for not putting a foot wrong.
