GENEROUS spectators donated record amounts at Topsham’s annual carnival.

Despite the weather, and several events being moved indoors, spirits weren’t dampened as thousands lined the streets for the day that seems to increase in popularity ever year.

Fourteen floats were entered with 16 walking entries including majorettes, pictured left, and the Royal Float carrying carnival queen Lucy Thomas - while street collections were £200 up on last year, with £1,800 collected, which will go towards next year’s event and local charities.
