Targeting the disabled

I watched the live debate of the welfare reform bill on the BBC. I later learned that seven amendments recommended by the House of Lords were callously overturned without appeal, under a little known loop hole in the constitution.

What sort of government do we have that targets the sick, the old, the needy and the disabled? I was particularly appalled by the depths to which they sank by targeting disabled children.
