Sold down river

I’m not going to get involved in a to and fro with Mike in the Wilderness, that would be just too boring for everyone else.

I would just like to say that we’re all going to be swamped with ‘information’ from every quarter very soon.

EU fans will try their very best to put a positive light on what is happening in Europe (the poverty, the riots, the protests) and people like me will try their damnedest to get the truth across.

For us, it will be like walking in clinging, wet mud, for Europhiles have been given carefully scripted crib sheets from which they quote.

We, on the other hand, speak of the facts as they can be clearly seen if one cares to look.

I was raised in a socialist household, my father being a Gold Badge trade unionist, my mother an old time Labour councillor, eventually Alderman, and my brother has become a Marxist.

Like religion, when it comes to party politics it serves one well to try the lot and see what suits and so I did.

All the time I was reading and watching and learning.

Some years ago I realised that this country is being sold down the river.

The so-called Common Market we had joined has mutated into a political union of disparate countries heading towards a new entity.

All ruled by an unelected band of people who are determined to meld us all into a United States of Europe and our craven politicians are letting them do it.

Mr Cameron prevaricates when he says he will negotiate some powers back to us; that simply isn’t possible.

The other 26 countries will not allow it.

I felt angry and helpless and useless.

Then I discovered UKIP, who are determined to save our sovereignty, our democracy and our freedom.

I joined in 2006 and it was like coming home.

I was among fellow patriots, who talk the same language and have no intention of letting Britain become a mere satellite of the EU. What a relief!

That’s why I won’t bandy words with Mike, for he knows not of what he speaks.
