I often take my two young children, aged three and six, down to our lovely beach to play. However, I have recently grown quite perturbed about the few careless dog owners who allow their dogs to run up to my small children and hover around us.
Sometimes when I look around for the dog owner, I find that they are not even aware their dogs are near my children or, even worse, the owner is not in sight. Sometimes a dog owner may say something like “It’s OK, my dog likes children”, or “He won’t hurt, he’s a friendly dog”.
Well, unfortunately, children are not built with a device so they automatically know if a dog (which can sometimes be bigger than the child) is friendly or not.
Likewise, if you were down on the beach minding your own business, then suddenly a dog that is the same size as you, or bigger, is running around you, then you would be freaked out too.
Please be more thoughtful.
