I read with interest the Budleigh Journal front page article regarding The Longboat and the results of the survey.
Now, I am no mathematician, but 1,500-plus people completed the survey and 1,088 did not want the building replaced. However, according to Deputy Mayor Courtney Richards, “a majority of four to one said they wanted a less modern, one-storey building”. If we take 1,500 as the number of replies, at four to one that makes 1,200, which, when added to the 1,088 who did not want the building replaced, makes 2,288. This makes the plus of the 1,500-plus, 788. A really big plus, if you ask me. It just doesn’t add up!
