A Taste of Britain - Marmite & Co!.

Hello Readers!!,

I'm back with another tale to tell, delightful at being able to savour the delights of a bit of Britain and things I missed.
In Frankfurt City, we have a shop which sells only British goods. Last week I decided to visit it and was very happy at being able to buy a lot of things which are just true 'Island'!. It is suprising what one misses when one leaves dear old blighty. The food binge landed me with the following: Marmite (the boys wont even touch it, but I do), Mint Sauce (I'm an extreme 'mint' freak, will add it to any form of meal where there is meat), Cream Crackers (for the suculent evening 'nosh-up' with Marmite), Digestive Biscuits (the original McVities of course, to dunk in my morning tea), Chivers Marmelade (one Golden, one Silver), Branston Pickle (mmmmmmmmmm, very nice buttys they make), HP Steak Sauce (got two bottles of that, because the boys enjoy it with their breakfast of bacon and eggs, me too. This sauce is available in most supermarkets here though), four Crunchie Bars and four Cadbury Flakes.
I said to the owner, who is actually Irish, I really miss the 'Devon Cream Teas' and he didnt understand why, seeing as, in the fridge, he had small and large jars of 'Clotted Cream'. Well, that did it, I bought a large jar and after I left, went an bought two punnets of Strawberries.
That same evening, Alex and I had a good tuck in I can tell you, talk about Gannets, good grief, I even saw us on Dartmoor!!.
Although the purchase was rather expensive, it didnt hurt my pocket because I was able to have something of dear 'ole Britain!!.
I didnt get to eat much of the Bickies though, Christian tried one and raided the tin, so next time I will have to buy extras. All in all, 'twas a sheer delight'. One thing is for sure, at Christmas I shall purchase a 'Mrs Peeks' Christmas pudding...........with Clotted Cream of course!!.
