Dinan Way is one of the longest roads in the town. It sweeps down from the top of Hulham Road right up to the Budleigh Road and in between it has gentle curves and inviting rise and falls. As a result it is a magnet to speedsters especially motorbikes, and especially late at night.
The road is a 30 mph limit, so where are the Police to enforce it? They occasionally turn up after 9 am in the morning and park on the verge with a highly visible marked police van containing a speed gun. Everybody can see them a mile off but in any case 9.30 in the morning is not when the speedsters are about. I believe I have read that the speed guns do not work at night, which suggests they should get one that does. Apart from that however it is light now at least until 9.30 in the evening so why are they not out then?
Exmouth sea front is one problem and Dinan Way is very similar. Surely it is not beyond the wit of the Police to resolve it
